Törner Cryda - Knight in Pieces

Törner Cryda play rock music with a wide array of influences, shaped by the unique voices of each member and merged into their signature 70s psychedelic pop-folk-rock sound. The band was formed in 2023 by five students at Lund University. Their debut album, Knight in Pieces, was recorded, mixed and mastered by me.

From a review by Indie Rock Music Blog:
“The production, handled by Ian Whiteford at Studio Skogsbacka, wisely resists the temptation to buff away every rough edge or smother the performance in digital gloss. The result possesses genuine warmth, that analogue richness which made records from the band's chosen era feel like living, breathing entities rather than meticulously arranged sequences of ones and zeros.”

Fathoms Below

A person sits on a boat, on a sunny, comforting day. A storm rolls in and rocks the boat, plunging them into the sea. However, the person realises that they can breathe underwater. They start swimming around, interacting with the marine life. After a while, a rumbling, luring call is heard from below. Again, the luring call is heard. The call gets stronger and stronger and eventually frightening. But it's too late, the sirens pull them down to the abyssal depths below.

Genesis

The first of seven movements written by seven composers depicting the seven days of creation from the Bible. The earth is empty and dark, but then comes the first sunrise and the energetic day. After the sunset and the subsequent night, the sunrise returns and the first day cycle is complete.

Introspective Kaleidoscope

A sonic reimagining of one of my own pieces, inspired by the concept of an "exquisite corpse", but played against myself instead. Like turning a kaleidoscope, each moment reveals a new perspective, refracting the past into something fresh and unpredictable.
